By
Webb, Meckstroth, and Tolan A small group of people will be reading
Guiding the Gifted Child: A
Practical Source For Parents and Teachers
by James T. Webb and Elizabeth A. Meckstroth.
This
group will meet for 8 weeks beginning either Tuesday, January 16th,
2007
at 12:30 p.m. or Wednesday, January 17th, 2007 at 7 p.m.
Locations are still being finalized, but will be in the Hinsdale or
Clarendon Hills area. If you are interested in
participating, please send an email by clicking
here. The group size will be limited to 12 people, on a first come,
first served basis with members of GECO receiving a preference.
Please indicate whether you are interested in meeting during the days on
Tuesdays or in the evenings on Wednesdays. If
you can participate in either, please indicate this and indicate your
preference. (If there is
insufficient interest in one of these time slots, we may only form one group.) The cost for participation will
be $20, which will be used to pay for materials (mostly photocopies of relevant
articles) and facilities. This year’s readings will be facilitated by Newenka DuMont. Newenka lives in Hinsdale with her husband and their two children, who are in the 8th and 3rd grades. She was a member of Hinsdale Parents of the Gifted and the founding president of the Gifted Education Cooperative. She also is a member of the Illinois Association for Gifted Children, volunteers on IAGC’s advocacy committee and has spoken at the IAGC annual conference the last two years. |
